In partnership with authorities
EEF works closely and on an equal footing with authorities. This cooperation ensures that regulatory requirements are met smoothly, making the approval process efficient and successful.
Renewable energy projects often have to undergo an approval process under the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG). In preparation for this approval process, comprehensive assessments are prepared to examine the project for potential restrictions and environmental impacts.
The creation of assessments is a central part of preparing the documentation for the approval process. They illuminate a multitude of relevant aspects and provide a solid basis for further planning and subsequent approval. Due to the complexity of these investigations, their completion can take several months. The scope of the investigation is determined in close coordination with local authorities. A crucial milestone is the final decision on the components to be used, paving the way for the completion of the assessments and the preparation for the approval process.
Assessments provide the basis for the relevant authorities to evaluate and decide on the project's eligibility for approval. They collect all data coordinated with the authorities beforehand and assess the project's impacts to ensure that all legal requirements are met.
Due to our cooperative approach with the permitting authorities, we ensure that all assessments made for evaluating the project's eligibility meet the legally required scope. Moreover, we emphasize the importance of commissioning only recognized and accredited assessors.
EEF aims to communicate findings from the assessments transparently in advance of the approval process during information events and community meetings, focusing on the project initiative.
EEF maintains a large regional and nationwide network in Germany. Through close collaboration with our partners, we pool expertise and resources to implement sustainable projects that meet today's and tomorrow's energy needs.
