Hybrid Parks: the future of energy supply

Our hybrid parks combine wind energy, photovoltaics, storage, and conversion technologies in an innovative, holistic approach. We always consider planning areas in a holistic spatial context and simultaneously optimize the use of the grid infrastructure. This strategy offers significant advantages: We maximize energy yield per square meter and use infrastructures efficiently by, for example, doubly utilizing powerful cable routes. This leads to significant savings of valuable resources such as copper and simultaneously reduces construction interventions in the environment, which promotes environmental protection. By using a common grid connection, we reduce the effort for grid expansion, lower costs, and shorten construction times. At EEF, we are convinced that this synergistic linkage of different technologies is the key to a sustainable, cost-effective, and secure energy future.

Wind energy

This renewable energy source plays a key role in energy transition 2.0. It significantly contributes to the security and sustainability of energy supply and reduces dependence on fossil fuels. Our wind parks harness the power of the wind for clean and reliable electricity generation. Thanks to cutting-edge technology, efficiency is maximized and the ecological footprint is minimized.

Photovoltaics

At EEF, we focus on Photovoltaics, which efficiently convert sunlight into electrical energy. As an inexhaustible renewable energy source, it promotes the possibility of decentralized energy production. We recognize the diverse opportunities of innovative applications such as Agri-PV systems and use them to further diversify our energy sources.

Storage solutions

Storage solutions are essential for the energy transition 2.0. They optimize the use of electricity from renewable sources by storing excess energy during production peaks and making it available again during low wind and sunlight. Moreover, they stabilize the power grid through their ability for bidirectional interaction: they can flexibly absorb and release energy to balance the grid frequency. These features make, for example, battery storage a central element in the expansion of renewable energies and the gradual replacement of fossil fuels. They significantly contribute to creating a sustainable, stable, and resilient energy system.

Conversion technologies

Conversion technologies are revolutionizing our energy landscape. Using innovative Power-to-X processes, we transform excess electricity from renewable sources into versatile hydrogen, for instance. This technology not only enables efficient energy storage but also paves new paths for sustainable industries and mobility. As the energy carrier of the future, hydrogen plays a key role in sector coupling and promotes decarbonization, especially in areas that are difficult to electrify.

Perspectives of our employees

  • "Renewable energies require collaboration – not just among us as partners, but also within the technology itself. By closely integrating wind, solar, storage, and conversion technologies, we create innovative hybrid projects that become a powerful whole. This synergy is the key to the energy transition 2.0 – together we are stronger, more sustainable, and more resilient."
