EEF Moves into new office in Hamburg
04.03.2025
Another milestone for the Energy transition 2.0: Construction work for the Beckum Wind Farm has officially begun. The groundbreaking marks the start of implementing a significant project by the Renewable Energy Factory (EEF) in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The project includes three Nordex N149 turbines with a hub height of 125.4 meters, and one N133 with a rotor diameter of 133 meters and a hub height of 110 meters. The total capacity is 21.9 MW. Upon completion, the wind farm will produce approximately 46,000 MWh of clean energy annually – enough to sustainably power about 15,000 households.
"The commencement of this wind farm marks a significant step towards a more sustainable future. We look forward to a successful construction phase and rely on close cooperation with all parties involved – from landowners and residents to the local community and district. Transparent communication and mutual trust are key for us to jointly make this project a success," emphasizes Bernadett Fischer, Project Manager at EEF.
For the earthworks, EEF relies on Hagedorn, a locally based and nationwide operating subcontractor. "Our values are based on local proximity and trust in experienced partners onsite. This way, we not only create forward-looking projects but also strengthen the regional economy," adds Sebastian Heinisch, Senior Construction Project Manager at EEF.
The civil engineering division of the Gütersloh-based Hagedorn Group is responsible for the foundation excavation, the construction of new access roads, and the trench piping. "Our team brings the necessary expertise and we are excited to be part of such an important energy transition project," says Aleksandar Petrovic, head of Environmental and Energy Economy at Hagedorn Construction GmbH.
A first project milestone was reached in December with the delivery and installation of the transfer station at the Ennigerloh substation. The commissioning is expected by the end of 2025.
The Beckum wind park exemplifies EEF's ambition to implement innovative energy projects, thereby making a sustainable contribution to climate protection. EEF thanks all partners and participants who made this success possible and looks forward with anticipation to the upcoming construction phases.
