EEF Moves into new office in Hamburg
04.03.2025
Berlin, June 5, 2024 – EEF has recently successfully acquired project rights for seven wind energy turbines in Lower Saxony with a planned total capacity of 40 MW and has completed a cooperation for the development of eight photovoltaic projects – mainly in northern Germany – with a planned total capacity of 350 MWp.
With the acquisition of these project rights and the completed cooperation, EEF strengthens its position as a holistic developer of renewable energy plants in Germany.
"Both transactions fit very well into our growth strategy. We are looking forward to incorporating these projects into our portfolio, obtaining timely approvals, realizing them, and operating them in the long term." says Niklas Hinz, CEO of EEF.
Both the wind and solar parks will in total supply approximately 130,000 households with renewable energy. As part of the wind park development, EEF will offer community participation, allowing local residents to also benefit economically. The photovoltaic projects include installations eligible under the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) as well as projects marketed through long-term power purchase agreements (PPA). In addition, EEF plans to construct substations near some of these PV parks, creating synergies with the expansion of wind power.
Roman Bredlow, also CEO of EEF, adds: "By constructing substations near our PV parks, we also create valuable synergies for further expansion of wind power. This underscores our commitment to holistic concepts, with a focus on more efficient use of network infrastructure."
The synergy from our partnerships, in-house developed tools, and expertise along the entire value chain enables us to ensure the integration and targeted further development of the projects.
Nigel Nyirenda, third executive of EEF, emphasizes: "Our Holistic approach as a pioneer of the Energy transition 2.0 provides us with the basis to identify further project potentials in cooperation with the local communities. We always focus on the well-being of the local people - true to our motto: 'The benefits should be felt where the projects are realized.'"
EEF stands for a future where sustainability and progress are closely linked. As a creative visionary, it is passionately committed to the Energy transition 2.0 and is an innovative partner for Holistic energy concepts in Germany. With many years of industry experience and locations in Berlin, Hamburg, and Mainz, EEF drives projects forward with over 40 employees close to their locations – this linked with the objective of integrating these projects into their own portfolio in the long term. EEF plans to invest approximately 500 million Euros in the coming years. The goal is to create a sustainable era of energy by intelligently combining wind energy, photovoltaics, and storage technologies, supported by innovative AI software. Through open dialogues and careful listening, they develop tailor-made Energy solutions that meet local needs.
